Pamela Mary Announces Tribute Song “Gates of Guadalupe” Honoring Texas Flood Victims
Houston, TX — [July 31, 2025] — Texas-based country artist and songwriter Pamela Mary has announced her upcoming single, “Gates of Guadalupe,” a heartfelt musical tribute to the victims of the July 4, 2025, Guadalupe River floods — one of the deadliest disasters in Texas Hill Country history. The catastrophic floods claimed at least 135 lives, including children and counselors at Camp Mystic. As Texans mourned and rallied together, Pamela Mary — known for blending traditional country storytelling with faith-inspired themes — began writing a song to honor the lives lost and comfort those left behind.
“I wanted to create something beautiful in the midst of heartbreak,” Pamela Mary says. “A song that remembers every name, every face, and brings hope to anyone still carrying this loss.”
A Song Born of Empathy and Hope
Pamela Mary is no stranger to hardship. She lives with multiple sclerosis and personally witnessed the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in her hometown of Houston, experiences that have deepened her compassion and informed her songwriting. Her music has earned recognition as a finalist for multiple Texas Country Music Association awards and the USA Songwriting Competition, drawing comparisons to artists like Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire for her heartfelt and faith-tinged approach.
Though Gates of Guadalupe is still in production, an early demo has already moved listeners to tears — one listener described feeling “the Holy Spirit” while hearing the rough version.
